Enjoy the Library!
Borrowing
Students in Grades Primary and 1 will be starting off with 1 book per week, and will be able to bring
home 2 books later in the fall. Grades 2 to 3 are allowed to borrow up to 2 books at a time.
Students in Grades 4 to 6 are allowed to borrow up to 3 books at a time.
Teachers and staff may borrow as many materials as needed.
Returns
Grade P- 4 Library materials are borrowed for the period of 1 week unless they are being renewed. It
is possible to renew your book even if you do not have it with you, just ask. The only time you
can't renew a book is if someone else has put in a request for it. Grades 5-6 may borrow library
materials for up to two weeks at a time and may renew them as well.
Book Care
Students are responsible for taking good care of their library books as these books are here for everyone to share. The kinder we are to our books, the longer they will last! Please keep library books away from food, liquids, and pets and try not to tear or fold pages, use a bookmark instead! And everyone knows, you should definitely not color in library books either.
Lost/ Damaged Books
Accidents happen! Although it is best to try not to lose your books or damage them, if this happens there are a few things you can do. For lost books or really damaged ones you can either pay $5.00 to go towards replacing it or you can donate a new book or a gently used book from home to the library. If a book is just a little bit damaged (loose pages, etc.), bring it back to the librarian, she can probably fix it up in the Book Hospital!
